Our Team

The Tea Drunk Team is made up of a small group of individuals, dedicated to tea and the culture and education surrounding it.

Shunan Teng - Founder & Owner Growing up in a household of foodies, Shunan was lucky to be nurtured in some of the best Chinese teas from a very young age. While tea has always been part of her, the love affair became serious in 2013, when she quit her career in finance to devote herself to the mission of introducing the highest level of Chinese tea to the world. Her goal is to use tea to introduce Chinese culture to the world with more clarity and depth. She hopes through increased cultural understandings, the world will be a more harmonious place.   Shunan travels to over 20 tea mountains in China every year to partake in the intense harvesting and crafting of historic teas. She thoroughly enjoys the contrast of sleepless clock-ticking rural life in tea country and the timeless tea-sipping city life back in New York City.

Rong Gao - Tea Specialist Rong grew up drinking and brewing tea. When she was seven years old, her family moved to Guangxi to open a tea store. She remembers being “shipped” with a ton of green tea from Fujian to Guangxi to help with the move. While at University here in the United States, Rong actively participated in organizational events by brewing Chinese tea and spreading basic tea knowledge. She wants to continue this mission of spreading knowledge of Chinese tea and culture to New Yorkers and people all around the world.  Instagram: @rrronglives
